An E-2 visa is required for teaching English in Korea. It usually takes 30~45 days from the sending your documents to your arrival in Korea with an E-2 VISA stamp in your passport.

ACQUIRING YOUR VISA LETTER

Upon the receipt of your documents in Korea (signed contract, diploma, transcripts and photos), we will then submit them to the Korean immigration office in order to process your “visa letter” (Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance). It's basically a form from the Korean immigration office that states you are eligible for an E2 work visa.  We will send it to you via email.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT TO KOREA

1) Original (or notarized) diploma (original is much easier, and you will receive all your documents back upon your arrival in Korea).

2) Sealed (closed with University stamp on the seal-never opened) transcripts (two – 1 to sent to Korea in this step and the 2nd you may need to send to the consulate when processing your passport. This depends on the consulate’s individual policies).

3) 4 passport-sized photos (you will need a 5th one to send to the consulate later).  Be sure to use real photos, no printed digital photos.

4) Signed contract (be sure to sign every page)

5) Copy of passport (scanned or digital photo – this can be sent directly to me via email, or printed and sent with the other documents). Be sure that it is clear and legible.

6) Notarized criminal background check.  Must have no infractions.

*note: please be sure to use an express courier such as Fedex, DHL

PROCESSING YOUR PASSPORT

Upon receipt of your "visa letter" from us, you'll then take it to the Korean consulate closest to you, where you will have your visa stamped into your passport. There is a fee so you'll have to call the consulate and find out the exact fee before going there. You'll be able to pick up your passport within a few days. In cases where time is an issue (and if you ask them nicely), they may be able to prepare your visa in a few hours. If you need to courier your passport to the Korean consulate, you'll need to include self-addressed stamped envelop. If you don't include the SASE the consulate will NOT send your passport back to you.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE CONSULATE

1) Valid passport

2) Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance (visa letter or visa letter I.D. number)- we issue it to you after your visa number is processed in Korea (step 1).

3) Completed visa application form with color photo attached (you must provide the photo, and we will send you the application)

4) Visa fee: 65 CAD for Canadians, 45 USD for Americans.
MUST USE MONEY ORDER-No cash or credit cards will be accepted
